Texting and Driving
My current opinion of texting and driving is that it is selfish
Texting and driving causes accidents. My latest conclusion is that the reasons for doing it are purely selfish and if calling people out this way helps stop all the texting and driving I’m ok with it.
It’s selfish, end of story. You could manage your time better so you don’t have to multi task or you could also take the time and learn to use Siri (or whatever your phones version of Siri is). You could pull over or you could call the person you are texting. So those of you who still text and drive, please STOP!
Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% ok with being selfish a lot of the time. So no to events when you have too much on your schedule, so no to friends when you are saving money or need time for yourself. Say no to family if they are making you crazy, but don’t be selfish about saving lives. That’s what this is about, it’s selfish if you think your texts are more important than your life and the lives of those in your car and the cars of others around you.
Choose where to be selfish and choose wisely. I’ll understand if you can’t make it to my party or to dinner but if you cause an accident due to texting, that’s a whole other level of selfishness that I believe we should no longer tolerate.
Lots of love and safe driving!
