Butter Boards
I made my first butter board and I am officially in love with the new trend!!
Have you made one yet? If so let me know your favorite toppings. This is the first and only one I’ve made so far but I plan to try a few more. I found this recipe on Aubreys Kitchen and it was the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy and the mixed micro greens completed the look. I’m a garlic lover, so the roasted garlic was definitely a plus.
How much butter is too much to eat in one night?
I think butter boards might be better suited for a dinner party rather than just the tow of us. But, sometimes a dinner of bread, butter and some condiments is ok, right?
From what I read before making them, it seems that good butter and flaky sea salt are key. All my butter was in the fridge so I just cut some slices off on a cutting board so they would get to room temperature a but faster. Smush the butter around on the board, sprinkle with salt, add spicy crispy chili oil (from trader joes), honey, roasted garlic and top with micro greens. I bought one of those almost baked baguettes that I just had to put in the oven for 10 min and Voila – butter board is ready to eat!
I love a good charcuterie board and I don’t really want to compare them. I’ll just say that I’d be happy with either or both. Butter boards can be pulled together pretty quickly and you might have all the things you need already in your pantry. They also might be a little easier on your wallet. All had to buy for this one was the bread and crispy spicy oil, everything else I had ready to go.
Here are a few other boards that I might have to try in the future
